ta:lik`s main aim is to make Norwegian traditional music available on CD. We specialize in quality releases of archive recordings by old master fiddlers, such as Ola Bøe, Olav Moe, Haldor Røyne, Harald Fylken, Sigurd Eldegard, Ola Grihamar, Klaus Sande, Laget for folkemusikk, Alfred and Mattias Bismo, Eivind Mo, Odd Bakkerud, Furnes, Holsen and Sandal, Einar Løndal og Skogumsbrørne. In 2003 and 2004 we also released new recordings of the winner of Landskappleiken (The Norwegian Championship) 2002 and 2004, Jan Beitohaugen Granli (hardangerfiddle), a new recording of Marit Mattisgard, one of Norways finest traditional singers, a new recording with the hardangerfiddler Trygve Bolstad and in the autumn 2004 we released a new recording with Einar Olav and Gjermund Larsen from Trøndelag. The group Nordafjells released the album "General" in 2005, and for this album they won the Norwegian Folk Music Award 2005 (Folkelarm-prisen) Finally in 2005, Camilla Granlien released her first solo-album. We are planning several new productions in 2006 In Norway, traditional music is often linked to National Romanticism and its visual esthetics; including traditional costumes, rose painting and so on. Through contemporary cover designs we want to state that traditional music belongs to the present as well as the past, and does not always have to be paired with so-called traditional esthetics. ta:lik is initiated and run by Tore Bolstad, Niels J Røine, Anders E Røine and Frode Rolandsgard, all four closely connected to Valdres. The first three are renowned Hardanger Fiddle players.
